How to make a short film!

In terms of filming gear think of what you want the audience to feel and convey and pick around that. A good camera might be a valuable invest towards your project but an iPhone can still do a lot. A computer along with a good editing software could also be very useful in filming short films because quality is highly important. Overall, the filming gear is important but doesn't need to be very expensive and most of the time isn't. The pre-ducation stage is highly the most important process of the whole project as this is what makes or breaks your film. You may be tempted to pick up a camera and start filming but pre planning the production is key. Creating a script and memorizing it thoroughly is number 1 in the pre-prodution stage. Adding storyboards and shot lists will be very helpful for filming and can allow your filming process to go smoothly. The next part of creating a short film is obtaining a good crew. Due to short films having a lower budgets, a lot of characters isn't ideal along with the fact the storyline must be quick. Getting actors that can be very helpful to your film and exploring their strengths and weakness will allow for the best product during filming. Next, starting to film can be a hard process so making sure the locations you will be filming in are available to vital. Some locations don't allow for filming so before filming day making certain that the locations allow for filming is extremely important and sets the tone for the whole filming process. Lighting in location is also something to take account for and can affect they way scenes are filmed. Checking weather conditions and working around things like rain, storms etc is also key. During actual filming, keeping a good attitude within the filming crew and not getting frustrated helps the environment flourish. A very important note of short filming is understand that as much as your prepare, the product may not end up how you imagined it in your head.
