Production blog 3
Hey blog, it’s Editing day. Today my group and I got started on editing the AirPod commercial. Each person had a different role in the process. Savannah is the chopper, my way of saying she imports and trims the video clips and sounds. Sofia does the actual stitching of the clips. She kinda glued it all down and sets up a base for the group's other portions. Kaz is going to add the voice-over once all the clips are set in place. The group thought it would be really funny if Kaz did the voice-over in a British accent to make the video more fun. Lastly, my job is as the transitioner. For me, I’m the one who does most of the different effects added on top of the clips. For example, one of the scenes my group has come up with consists of Kaz placing an AirPods in his ear, and then the camera zooms into his mind. This is the part of the commercial where the audience will see Sofia and I getting transformed into Kaz's dream world using AirPods. When recording Savannah didn’t zoom in physically with the camera so that leaves me to add it with an effect. I started by downloading a browser named Capcut to help me with this. I had to download and export the specific clip I wanted one at a time. After everything was downloaded I went through and measured the speed of how fast the transition zoom was going to be and how short or long. After I’ve finished editing I can send the clip to Sofia to import the clip back into the original segment on IMovie. From IMovie I will insert other transitions directly onto the clip. Each group member really put in a fair share of work and I believe our commercial will really come together. Anyways piece out blog.
